What is a shirt
A shirt is an item of clothing for the upper body. The item of clothing comprises a front and back section, sleeves, collar and devices for full or partial opening/closing.
Shirts can vary endlessly as far as colours, sleeve lengths; buttons, fabric, cut, etc. are concerned. But any shirt can be described in four dimensions, which also determine its quality:
- The fabric
- The stitching
- The trim (buttons, details, etc.)
- The styling (design)
Su Misura - the fabric
Your Su Misura shirts are made of Egyptian 2 ply cotton. Egyptian cotton is by nature, the best in the world with long, strong and uniform fibres. Therefore, the finished result is a fine and durable fabric, which only shrinks 2-3%. 2 ply means two threads are spun together into one thread, which provides extra strength.
The fine cotton has a glossy surface and since all fabrics are yarn dyed before weaving, the colour has penetrated all the way through and the shirts have a uniform and beautiful finish.
Su Misura - the stitching
We are supporters of sustainable and qualified production. Su Misura shirts are sewn by well-educated adults who have an average of 10 years seniority and experience. We use a good and strong thread that does not shrink. And the stitching itself is delicate with a high stitch density.
On certain shirts we use on-the-edge stitching where the stitches are very close to the edge. This provides a particularly exclusive look.
Su Misura - the trim
The buttons on Su Misura shirts are 3 mm thick and made of 'mother of pearl'. They are sewn on with cross stitching so they remain in place. You have probably worn shirts where the buttons have not been sewn on with cross stitching and they soon fall off.
